Less touristy Photoshoot Locations in Lisbon… Discover the City Like a Local!

Lisbon is beautiful but the famous landmarks and historical sites can get very crowded, especially during summer. In this blog post, I want to share some of my favorite locations in Lisbon and some tips for your photoshoot in the city.

Lisbon is not far from my home, and I visit this beautiful city frequently for photoshoots. However, I realized that I kept returning to the same well-known spots, never truly discovering the city’s lesser-known treasures.

The neighbourhood of Alfama for example is definitely one of the most photogenic parts of the city due to the old, authentic buildings but it is also usually very crowded. If you want to plan a photoshoot at for example the stunning “Miradouro de Santa Luzia”.. it’s best to plan it very early in the day.

I felt like I needed to explore the city more so met up with Fien, who showed me the beautiful areas of Mouraria and It’s stunnig views.. It is the city’s melting pot where different cultures come together.

Fien guided me through hidden corners, breathtaking viewpoints, charming spots in Graça, and stunning historical buildings… Places I would have probably never found on my own. Fien often shares great insider tips about the city, so defnitely check out her instagram page @almatravel.lisbon.

Next to beautiful Alfama, Mouraria and Graça, I eventually fell most in love with the neighbourhoud of Chiado. This is defenitely my go-to spot for family sessions. Walking from Chiado to Praça do Comércio is easy and most importantly, all downhill.

The beautiful buildings and viewpoints make excellent stops for photos. Going around this neighbourhoud with me is more than a photosession… maybe “phototour” is a more suitable description.
